Photos and a list of company members are available in El teatro según Cervantes, Cuadernos de Teatro Clásico, 20, Madrid, Compañía Nacional de Teatro Clásico.
The production was very well received by the Spanish press, who often commented on the huge ambulatory puppetry that characterised it. A study of the production with statements by key members of the team along with a compendium of reviews is available (in Spanish) in Cervantes en la Compañía Nacional de Teatro Clásico, Cuadernos de Teatro Clásico, 21, Madrid, Compañía Nacional de Teatro Clásico. Full colour photos of Maravillas de Cervantes (including El viejo celoso) are also included in that issue.
The production was a programme of Cervantes’ work, also including El retablo de las maravillas, Los habladores, La cueva de Salamanca, La elección de los alcaldes de Daganzo and El viejo celoso. The production also toured.
Also played 15-19 February 2005 at the Burton-Taylor Theatre in Oxford.
Performed also with a translation by John O’Neill of Lorca’s Amor de Don Perlimplín con Belisa en su jardín (The Love of Don Perlimplín)
