The play is divided into two parts.
The play takes place in Pepa and Yimi's dingy apartment. It contains drug paraphernalia, including a small stove and needles. At the start of the play, Yimi wears a studded leather jacket. He brandishes a chain, which, in Part Two, is used to restrain him. In Part Two Equis appears dressed in Middle-Eastern garb, looking very much like a Sultan.
At a number of points in the play, the characters listen to Middle-Eastern music.
