This is a three-act comedia.
The action takes place in London, beginning with Henry VIII asleep over a writing table. Cardinal Wolsey delivers some letters to him, and the King places one of them, the one from Martin Luther, on his head. Jane Seymour sings a song in the second act, and Anne Boleyn dances. In the third act, the Queen has relocated to a castle outside London, and there she is in possession of a gold chain. She also mentions the flowers that surround her in that new location, as Margaret sings.
