Scene

This is a two act play.

Staging

The stage must reflect a small modern flat.  Half of the stage is filled with antique Spanish furniture, the other half is of very modern Danish design and there is no integration between the two different sides.  There is also a rocking chair, a gramophone and old records.

In the middle of the stage are a table and two chairs which, as Díaz puts it, are ‘the neutral ground where the daily battle of the matrimonial breakfast takes place’.  There is also a transistor radio on the table.
