This play was commissioned by the Royal Court Theatre as a rehearsed reading as part of the LIFT series, the London International Festival of Theatre in 1991. As it was written for this purpose there are no directions towards staging. It can therefore be staged with very sparse details, or even performed for radio broadcast.
