Javier Villán commended the staging of this production. Critical response

Reviewers praised Ricardo Ramírez Carnero’s direction, as well as the performances of all three of the actors. One reviewer was particularly impressed by the way in which the director handled the frequent scene/temporal changes through the deliberate use of a figure who comes on to rearrange the set, in the style of a Japanese koken. She noted: ‘The very obvious presence of the koken, dressed not in black but in bright clothes, accompanied by Rodrigo Mendoza’s music, helps link together the play’s potential realities’ (Harmony 2001).
