Further information: "Love the Doctor" is a translation/adaptation of Tirso's play. I've taken many liberties, going as far as merging two characters (Gonzalo and Rodrigo), swapping the character of the King out for the Queen, reducing the number of characters to eight, and tweaking the ending of the play.
