esperpento

The esperpento is a dramatic style typically associated with the playwright Ramón María del Valle-Inclán. It presents a distorted vision of reality in which objects and animals often acquire human traits, whereas humans are reduced to their atavistic impulses or are rendered grotesque or puppet-like.
